The Sparta Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They took a hard 65-51 fall against La Crosse Logan. Sparta has not had much luck with La Crosse Logan recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gus Tripp, who scored seven points. Another player making a difference was Gavin Rhead, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Sparta's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13. As for La Crosse Logan, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sparta will take on Viroqua at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Viroqua knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully Sparta likes a good challenge. As for La Crosse Logan, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Prairie du Chien at 7:15 p.m. Prairie du Chien is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
