Coming into this game, the Pine Lake Prep Pride had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points), and they went ahead and made it four. They took down Bishop McGuinness 58-26 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Pine Lake Prep also won the last time the pair played in 2022.
Gabe Bolivar was on fire, as he rushed for 300 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per carry. Bolivar was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards. Braden Gower was another key contributor, picking up 149 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Pine Lake Prep's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Ryan Connotillo.
Pine Lake Prep has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first seven games, giving them a 6-1 record. With that defeat, Bishop McGuinness now have a losing record at 3-4.
Pine Lake Prep will be playing at home against Carver at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carver is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Meanwhile, Bishop McGuinness will head out on the road to face off against Mountain Island Charter on Friday.
