Volleyball Recap: Legacy Academy Starts Season with Victory at Home

Legacy Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Roy/Mosquero Blue/Lady Blue. The Silverbacks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue/Lady Blue, too.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-16, 25-11.

Briley Boll paced Legacy Academy's offense, picking up 12 kills. Boll got some help from Jasmine Contreras and her 18 assists. Boll was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Roy/Mosquero's defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2.

Coming up, Legacy Academy will challenge Fort Sumner at 8:30 a.m. on September 5. As for Roy/Mosquero, they will square off against Oak Grove Classical Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
