After flying high against Reed-Custer last Tuesday, Wilmington came back down to earth. The Wildcats took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Morris Redskins on Thursday. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Wilmington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dierks Geiss, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Wilmington now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Morris, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilmington will take on Manteno at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Morris, they will welcome Plainfield South at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in the Redskins' favor as the team sits on 12 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Cougars have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
