The Middlesex Chargers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against Christchurch School by a score of 57-45. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Middlesex also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Middlesex to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malik Dandy, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds. Dandy hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellen Layne, who scored 17 points along with five assists.
Middlesex has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Christchurch School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middlesex will square off against Charles City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Charles City: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Middlesex has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for Christchurch School, they will challenge Grace Christian School at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Grace Christian School is ranked 220th, while Christchurch School is ranked 206th).
