Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Weir). They snuck past the Yulee Hornets with a 65-60 victory on Thursday. While the Hurricanes didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Lake Weir got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alcarlos Richard out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was John Smith, who went 5 of 9 en route to 13 points.

Lake Weir smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keeton Tomasko, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 19 points. Tomasko has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Chase Cannone, who went 7 of 14 en route to 20 points and three steals.

Lake Weir is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Yulee, they dropped their record down to 6-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
