Zach Wasilewski and Christian Kelley provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Montoursville. The longest such play in Heartland II this season, the connection resulted in 86 yards.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, the Warriors beat Mount Carmel 18-13. The victory was the fifth in a row for Montoursville.
The RED TORNADOES's dynamic duo of Wasilewski and Kelley proved tough for J.C. Keefer's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Wasilewski threw for 187 yards and 2 touchdowns and Kelley had 95 yards receiving. Mike Gilger helped Mount Carmel's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 37 yards.
Kyle Datres provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Loyalsock Township. defeated Shikellamy. He completed 7 passes for 92 yards and also ran for 118 yards. Datres' favorite target this week was Caleb Robbins, who caught 3 passes for 52 yards.
He was 14-26 with 0 interception.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Lancers' Datres and Philip Krizan have proven to be a lethal combination. Datres has thrown for 797 yards this season, while Krizan, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 26 catches for 367 yards. The Warriors' Cameron Ott leads the league in rushing yards with 795.
The top two teams in Heartland II will face off this week when first place Montoursville takes on second place Lewisburg.
