Stoneman Douglas and Coral Glades are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Stoneman Douglas Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Coral Glades Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Stoneman Douglas knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Coral Glades likes a good challenge.
Stoneman Douglas will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Deerfield Beach, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Stoneman Douglas had just enough and edged Deerfield Beach out 58-56.

Ayden Mclean and Zack Story were among the main playmakers for Stoneman Douglas as the former went 8 of 17 on his way to 22 points along with seven boards and three steals and the latter dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Story a new career-high in assists (four). Derek Scheidt was another key player, putting up eight points.
Stoneman Douglas smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Coral Glades, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They breezed by Cooper City to the tune of 85-49 on Tuesday. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.
Stoneman Douglas better keep an eye on Bryan Jean. He was instrumental in Coral Glades' win, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Theophile, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points along with five assists and five boards.
Coral Glades pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.9 points per game. As for Stoneman Douglas, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Stoneman Douglas and Coral Glades are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Stoneman Douglas hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 59.3 points per game. However, it's not like Coral Glades struggles in that department as they've been averaging 70.5 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Stoneman Douglas might still be hurting after the 77-53 loss they got from Coral Glades in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Will Stoneman Douglas have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
