Lapel is 8-2 against Eastern Hancock since October of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bulldogs will host the Royals at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lapel comes in on eight and Eastern Hancock on four.
Lapel barely beat Jay County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs blew past the Patriots, posting a 42-14 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won five matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.

A big part of Lapel's victory came down to the chemistry between Devin Craig and his top target Jaxon Cripe. Craig threw for 229 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes while Cripe picked up 98 receiving yards and two TDs. What's more, Craig racked up 151.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.
Meanwhile, Eastern Hancock earned a 14-6 win over Shenandoah on Friday. The 14-point effort marked the Royals' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Lapel better keep an eye on Mark Kube. He was instrumental in Eastern Hancock's win, rushing for 130 yards and one score. Kube didn't just play on offense: he also picked up 0.5 sacks and made seven total tackles (1.0 for loss).
One reason for the win was Eastern Hancock's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 12 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Evan Wheeler and Brennon Trueblood, who racked up 6.5 sacks between them. Trueblood also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten.
Lapel's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Eastern Hancock, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Craig and Elijah Edon. Craig just won't slow down this season and has thrown 23 touchdowns while averaging 209.4 passing yards per game. Edon has been a dominant force too and has thrown 22 touchdowns (and and only 4 pick) while averaging 186.9 passing yards per game.
Lapel strolled past Eastern Hancock when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 35-18. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Edon, who threw for 245 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Bulldogs still be able to contain Edon? There's only one way to find out.
