Meanwhile, Briarwood Academy fell victim to Glascock County and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Buccaneers haven't been shut out since back in March.

Blake Tench put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Edmund Burke Academy pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Briarwood Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10.
