For the first time this season, Regis Jesuit will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will take on the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Regis Jesuit has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Regis Jesuit is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Collierville, who was ranked first in their home state at the time (Regis Jesuit was ranked fifth). The Raiders had just enough and edged out the Dragons 2-1 on Friday.

Michael Kroll spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
At the plate, Regis Jesuit saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Massey, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Mountain Vista made sure to put some runs up on the board against Pueblo West on Friday. The Golden Eagles never let the Cyclones get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The match marked the Golden Eagles' most dominant victory of the season so far.
The team relied heavily on Spike Magill, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Anthony Mitchell was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Mountain Vista was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pueblo West only posted a batting average of .062.
The win was the third in a row for Mountain Vista, bringing their record up to 6-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Regis Jesuit, their record is now 6-3.
Regis Jesuit's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. The Raiders have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Mountain Vista, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Regis Jesuit continue to outrun the ball?
Regis Jesuit skirted past Mountain Vista 3-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
