Leetonia has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the David Anderson Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Leetonia comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Monday, Leetonia took a serious blow against East Palestine, falling 40-10. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Leetonia has scored all season.
Meanwhile, David Anderson had to endure a ten-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past Valley Christian 56-23 on the road. The victory was just what David Anderson needed coming off of a 51-20 loss in their prior contest.
Leetonia bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.0 points per game. As for David Anderson, their victory bumped their record up to 1-5.
Leetonia came up short against David Anderson in their previous meeting back in January, falling 53-44. Can Leetonia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
