Softball Recap: Patterson Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Patterson lost to Manteca back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Patterson Tigers came out on top against the Manteca Buffaloes by a score of 12-9. Considering the Tigers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The team relied heavily on Elizabeth Zavala, who scored three runs while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmine Isom, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Patterson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Patterson pushed their record up to 7-6-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Manteca, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Patterson will head out to face off against Mountain House at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain House's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so Patterson's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Manteca, they are taking a road trip to take on East Union at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manteca is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
