The Fort Payne Wildcats won the last time they faced the Southside Panthers, and things went their way on Friday too. Fort Payne skirted past Southside 40-38. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Fort Payne.
Despite the loss, Southside still got an impressive performance from Madison Shaw, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The match was Shaw's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Sarakate Yancey was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 5 steals.
Fort Payne has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 8-2 record. As for Southside, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Oxford the next time they take the court. Southside will head out to face Oxford at TBD on Saturday, while Fort Payne will host them at TBD on Tuesday.
