Sumner Academy had lost nine games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 3-10 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Harmon Hawks 4-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-6 back in April.
Jackson Mason made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Mason was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
