The A.C. Flora Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Ridge View Blazers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
After only three points in their last game, A.C. Flora made sure to put some points up on the board against Lugoff-Elgin on Friday. A.C. Flora blew past Lugoff-Elgin 44-3 at home. A.C. Flora pushed the score to 37-3 by the end of the third, a deficit Lugoff-Elgin had no chance of recovering from.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead A.C. Flora to victory, but perhaps none more so than Roper Wentzky, who threw for 346 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes. Coach Davis did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 158 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Ridge View put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Richland Northeast 42-21. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Ridge View was the (much) better team in the second half.
Ridge View can attribute much of their success to Siah Mack, who rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and Breylon Boyd, who rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns.
A.C. Flora's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Ridge View, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
A.C. Flora beat Ridge View 31-22 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for A.C. Flora since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
