Volleyball Recap: Lincoln Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Lincoln waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Champaign Central Maroons. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Railsplitters also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2023.

Lincoln had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-17, 25-18.

Lincoln's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paycen Schaefer, who had 11 digs. That's the most digs Schaefer has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Tedrick, who had five digs and one block.

Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Champaign Central, with the loss, they broke their four-match winning streak and moved their record to 9-22.

Lincoln wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Pleasant Plains on the 10th. As for Champaign Central, they will square off against Richwoods at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
