Springfield International scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 69-62 victory over Longmeadow. The victory was familiar territory for Springfield International who now have three in a row.
Springfield International found their leader in underclassman Allanah Chambers, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 24 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Chambers scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Giavanna Mars, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Springfield International has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Longmeadow, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield International will take on Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Springfield International likes a good challenge. As for Longmeadow, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome West Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th. West Springfield is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
