While it was all tied up 20-20 at halftime, the Somonauk/Leland Bobcats were not quite the Reed-Custer Comets's equal in the second half on Thursday. Somonauk/Leland took a 47-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Reed-Custer. Somonauk/Leland's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Reed-Custer was led to victory by Kaylee Tribble and Mya Beard. Tribble dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Beard scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Tribble has scored at least 25% of Reed-Custer's points. Another player making a difference was Gwen Stewart, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Somonauk/Leland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Reed-Custer, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Somonauk/Leland will be home for the holidays to greet Dakota at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Reed-Custer, they will head out on the road to face off against Hinckley-Big Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
