Castro Valley and Alameda are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Alameda will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Castro Valley extended their winning streak to six on Friday. The Trojans put the hurt on Encinal with a sharp 12-6 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Alanys Robertson made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Alicya Robertson was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Giselle De Casas, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Castro Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Alameda got themselves on the board against Bishop O'Dowd on Friday, but Bishop O'Dowd never followed suit. They blew past the Dragons 10-0. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Not much got past Julia Lambert, who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep Bishop O'Dowd off the board. Lambert has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mia Wong and Aaliyah Soderlund did most of the damage at the plate: Wong went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Soderlund went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Desiree Shoblo, who went 3-for-4 with three runs.
Castro Valley pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Alameda, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Castro Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .389. However, it's not like Alameda struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Castro Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Alameda in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
