Softball Recap: Riverside Wins Going Away Against Stone Bridge

Riverside came out on top against Stone Bridge on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Ram were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Bulldogs. Considering the Ram have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Brooklyn Oliviero looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ashley Bui, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaiden McCallum, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Riverside's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Stone Bridge, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Riverside will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
