Cabrillo is 2-8 against Millikan since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cabrillo Jaguars will look to defend their home court against the Millikan Rams at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Even though Cabrillo has not done well against Jordan recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Cabrillo walked away with a 68-61 victory over Jordan. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cabrillo.
Meanwhile, Millikan's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 81-68 to Lakewood. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (65), Millikan still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Millikan saw an underclassman step up: Dylan Williams shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Hunt, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Cabrillo is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. As for Millikan, they dropped their record down to 5-16 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.
Cabrillo was able to grind out a solid win over Millikan in their previous meeting on January 8th, winning 64-52. Does Cabrillo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Millikan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
