It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Carlson Marauders can now relate to. They suffered a tough 40-19 loss at the hands of Mott on Friday. Carlson's defeat signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.
Several Marauders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joe Krolak, who rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 139 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaiah Wright, who rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Kalieb Osborne, who threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground.
Carlson's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Mott, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Carlson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mott will head out on the road to face off against De La Salle Collegiate at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. De La Salle Collegiate is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
