It was a good run, but the Klawock Chieftains unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were beaten by Petersburg 76-45. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Klawock in their matchups with Petersburg: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Klawock still got an impressive performance from Marley Kness, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 46.7% of Klawock's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristin Ryno, who scored seven points.
Klawock's loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Petersburg, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Klawock didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-61 defeat vs. Susitna Valley on the 9th. Petersburg has also already played their next contest, a 66-40 win against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent on the 9th.
