The Udall Eagles had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against Douglass by a score of 61-52 on Friday. This was payback for Udall, who suffered a 56-26 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Udall was led to victory by Isaac Johnson and Jenson Harness. Johnson scored 22 points along with 8 rebounds, while Harness dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jordan Hornecker, who scored 9 points.
Udall's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Douglass, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Udall will challenge Caldwell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Caldwell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Monday. As for Douglass, they will head out on the road to face off against Fredonia on Monday.
