Yuma won the last time they faced Frontier Academy, and Berkley Nighswonger did her part to make sure it happened again. The Yuma Outlaws breezed by the Frontier Academy Wolverines to the tune of 70-17 on Friday thanks in part to Nighswonger, who went 8 of 14 on her way to 18 points along with eight boards and six steals. Those six steals gave her a new career-high.
The team also got some help courtesy of Laisha Loya, who posted nine points and six steals. Yuma is 4-2 when Loya posts three or more steals, but 4-5 otherwise.
Yuma's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7. As for Frontier Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Wray the next time they take the court. Yuma will host Wray at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Frontier Academy will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on February 7th.
