The Kingsford Flivvers and the Frankenmuth Eagles squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Kingsford Flivvers had to settle for second. Kingsford's rough 35-13 loss to Frankenmuth might stick with them for a while. Kingsford's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Frankenmuth was led to victory by Hunter Bernthal and Jack Rich. Bernthal rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, while Rich rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Frankenmuth's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Nicklaus Hoesman and Colin Main who racked up four sacks between them.
Kingsford's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Frankenmuth, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record.
Kingsford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Frankenmuth will take on Catholic Central at TBD on Saturday. Catholic Central will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
