Basketball Recap: Saguaro's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Saguaro waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Murrieta Mesa Rams as they made off with an 84-62 win. The Sabercats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Saguaro found their leader in freshman Pierce Harrington, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Javin Blacks, who posted 11 points and four blocks.

Saguaro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

When it comes to explaining why Murrieta Mesa lost, don't look at Zach Macdonald. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kian Hendricks, who had eight points.

Saguaro's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Murrieta Mesa, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Saguaro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-62 win against Aliso Niguel on the 28th. As for Murrieta Mesa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-46 victory against Simi Valley on the 28th.
