Lely took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cape Coral entered their tilt with Aubrey Rogers on Tuesday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 6-2.
Emma Brannan made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in February of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abigail Brannan, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Mya Ramirez was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Cape Coral was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aubrey Rogers only posted a batting average of .167.
Cape Coral pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Lely, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9.
