The Mt. Pleasant Tigers entered their tilt with the Hampshire Hawks with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Mt. Pleasant breezed by Hampshire at home to the tune of 65-18. The result was nothing new for Mt. Pleasant, who have now won five contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Mt. Pleasant got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jakyri McClure out in front who scored ten points along with four steals. The matchup was McClure's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hayden Holt, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Mt. Pleasant's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Hampshire, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Pleasant will take on Eagleville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eagleville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hampshire, they will head out on the road to face off against Zion Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
