The Dan River Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They snuck past Chatham with a 71-65 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Dan River was led to victory by Mathew Watson and Trevon Brooks. Watson scored 21 points, while Brooks scored 23 points. Watson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacoby Davis Jr., who scored ten points.
Dan River's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Chatham, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Dan River will head out on the road to take on Appomattox County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chatham, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Carlisle at 7:00 p.m. Carlisle presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chatham in Virginia (Carlisle is ranked 51st, while Chatham is ranked 263rd).
