Glenbrook is 0-4 against Ringgold since February of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Glenbrook Apaches will welcome the Ringgold Redskins at 7:30 p.m.
Last Tuesday, Glenbrook took a blow against Lincoln Prep, falling 72-20. The contest marked the Apaches' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Despite the loss, Glenbrook saw an underclassman step up: freshman Carson Powell posted 17 points. That was a full 85% of Glenbrook's points, marking the 12th time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ringgold, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Jonesboro-Hodge, posting a 61-33 victory. That 28 point margin sets a new team best for the Redskins this season.
Ringgold's win came from a few key players Glenbrook will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was KuVell Manning, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 19 points. LaDaunte McCoy was another key player, going 6 of 14 en route to 15 points and five rebounds.
Ringgold is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-19 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Glenbrook, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-14.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Glenbrook has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Ringgold struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Glenbrook was taken down by Ringgold 77-20 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Thankfully for Glenbrook, Jbari Adams (who went 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points and eight boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
