The Smithson Valley Rangers will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the TMI-Episcopal Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on December 16th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Smithson Valley came up short against Stevens and fell 60-50.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jake Goode, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Goode set a new season high mark in rebounds with ten. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Londrie, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, TMI-Episcopal pushed their score all the way to 69 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 76-69 to East Central. While losing is never fun, TMI-Episcopal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 481st, while East Central is ranked 92nd).
Smithson Valley now has a losing record at 5-6. As for TMI-Episcopal, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
Smithson Valley might still be hurting after the 70-48 defeat they got from TMI-Episcopal when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can Smithson Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
