The Emmanuel Christian Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 75-40 loss at the hands of Sumter Christian. Emmanuel Christian lost against Sumter Christian in their previous head to head back in November of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 59-37 score last time.
Sumter Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aj Danzy, who scored 27 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Danzy has scored at least 25% of Sumter Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Quayshawn While, who scored 21 points.
Emmanuel Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-3. As for Sumter Christian, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Emmanuel Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Harvest Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Sumter Christian will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on January 11th.
