The Appalachian Christian HomeSchool Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Providence Academy, falling 62-16. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Appalachian Christian HomeSchool of the 51-15 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Kinley Painter was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and ten steals for Providence Academy. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Painter has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Myla Johnson, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Appalachian Christian HomeSchool dropped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.0 points per game. As for Providence Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-10.
Appalachian Christian HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Providence Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against First Baptist Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 23rd. First Baptist Academy is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
