FORESTHILL, Calif. -
Foresthill (Calif.) jumped out to an early lead against Valley Christian (Roseville, Calif.) and never looked back on the way to a 45-0 victory on Saturday.
The Wildfires put up 16 points in the opening frame. Foresthill scored on a
Connor McCann touchdown pass to
Jacob Sandbank and a touchdown run by
Marcus Quintanilla.
After taking the lead on a McCann touchdown pass to Sandbank in the first quarter, FHS was up 32-0 at the half.
The Wildfires expanded their lead to 45 points entering the fourth quarter. Foresthill scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown.
FHS entered the contest giving up 25.2 points per game this year. The Wildfires held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Lions well below the 7.4 points it had been averaging per game.
A 64-0 Foresthill victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The victory was a step in the right direction for FHS, which was coming off a 45-6 defeat at the hands of Woodland Christian in its previous game.
Valley Christian (0-9) goes up against Delta when they take the field next week. The Saints enter the tilt sporting a 2-6 record for the season.
