Manchester is 2-8 against East Hartford since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Manchester Red Hawks will play host again and welcome the East Hartford Hornets, where tip off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Hopefully Manchester focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday.
Manchester scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 71-17 win over Tolland. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Manchester has managed all season.
Tiara Tyson was her usual excellent self, scoring 35 points along with five assists and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Manchester's points. Elise Ryan was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, East Hartford fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Edwin O. Smith on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 62-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for East Hartford in their matchups with Edwin O. Smith: they've now lost four in a row.
Manchester pushed their record up to 3-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for East Hartford, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Manchester didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against East Hartford in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 58-52 win. Does Manchester have another victory up their sleeve, or will East Hartford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
