Central A & M is a perfect 8-0 against MacArthur since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Raiders will welcome the Generals at 10:00 a.m. The timing is sure in Central A & M's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while MacArthur has been banged up by 13 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
On Friday, Central A & M was able to grind out a solid victory over Clinton, taking the game 11-6. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Maroons: they've now won four in a row.
Gwyn Hardimon made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Central A & M let Sophie Roe and Lyndi Woods run wild. Roe went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Woods went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. Those four hits gave Woods a new career-high. Callie Robertson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
Central A & M always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clinton only posted an OBP of .312.
Meanwhile, MacArthur scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Decatur Eisenhower by a score of 12-11.
MacArthur got a massive performance out of Lacey Jackson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those runs marked the first that Jackson has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Casey Jackson, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
MacArthur's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Central A & M, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Central A & M hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like MacArthur struggles in that department as they've averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Central A & M took their victory against MacArthur in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Generals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
