After starting their season with two straight games on the road, Maricopa is finally coming home. They will look to take advantage of their home-field as they take on the Sahuarita Mustangs  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Maricopa will be strutting in after a  win while Sahuarita will be coming in after a  loss.
 Last Friday, Maricopa didn't have too much trouble with Browne on the road   as they won  27-10.
  Jose Cardona Jr looked great while leading his team to the win,  throwing for 287 yards and two touchdowns. That's the most  total yards  he has posted since  back in September of 2023.  Khaleb Johnson helped  Cardona Jr out on the ground, rushing for 37 yards and two touchdowns.
 Maricopa wouldn't let Browne keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Maricopa can thank  Barry Smith and  Michael Hester for forcing both of them. Maricopa got some further help from  Russell Carrington: he picked up  1.5  sacks and made four total tackles (3.0 for loss).
 Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Sahuarita's offense. They lost  21-0 to Deer Valley on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 43  points in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
 Maricopa's victory  ended  a  five-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 1-1. As for Sahuarita, their defeat was  their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Everything came up roses for Maricopa against Sahuarita in their previous meeting  back in September of 2023 as the  squad secured  a  45-0 win. Will Maricopa repeat their success,  or does  Sahuarita have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
