Baseball Game Preview: Elizabeth Forward Warriors vs. Uniontown Red Raiders

For the second straight game, Elizabeth Forward will face off against Uniontown. The Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Red Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elizabeth Forward is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Elizabeth Forward had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Uniontown on Monday. The Warriors never let the Red Raiders get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Cy Herchelroath made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. In other batting news, AJ Grese was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Charlie Nigut was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Elizabeth Forward was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Elizabeth Forward is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games.
