Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Canterbury Cougars walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 42-13 win over Santa Fe Catholic at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Canterbury.
Canterbury got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joseph De La Nuez out in front who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. De La Nuez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Another player making a difference was Brenden Daller, who rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.
Canterbury's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Santa Fe Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Canterbury will stay at home for another week and welcome Harvest Community at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Harvest Community is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Santa Fe Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
