After a string of four wins, the Scotland Fighting Scots's good fortune finally ran out  on Friday. They took a   67-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jack Britt. The  contest was a  33-33 toss-up at halftime, but Scotland  was outscored by Jack Britt in the second.
 Scotland's  defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of  Morgan Thompson, who  scored 34 points along with eight  rebounds, and  Alicia McClain who  dropped  a double-double on 14 points and ten  rebounds. The  matchup was  Thompson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was  Madison Dixon, who  scored six points.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jack Britt to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Zahara Gerald, who  dropped  a double-double on 21 points and 11  rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which  Gerald has scored at least 25% of Jack Britt's points.  Dezariyah "Dezzy" Clark was another key contributor,  dropping  a double-double on 17 points and ten  rebounds.
 Scotland's loss  ended a three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 4-1. As for Jack Britt, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scotland won't have much time to rest: their next  game is against Marlboro County at 3:00  p.m.  on December 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another  in their respective states (Marlboro County is ranked 243rd in South Carolina, while Scotland is ranked 218th in North Carolina). Jack Britt will be home for the holidays to greet  Douglas Byrd at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Hopefully Douglas Byrd focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday.
