The Colonial Christian Cougars had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They secured a 29-25 W over Mooresville Christian. That's another feather in the cap for Colonial Christian, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Colonial Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kate Minton, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Stinna Grubb, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Despite the loss, Mooresville Christian saw an underclassman step up: Bailey Hayden scored seven points along with nine rebounds. Korah Pitcock was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three steals.
Colonial Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Mooresville Christian, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colonial Christian will take on the Cougar at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Community Baptist Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Mooresville Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th.
