Tustin extended their home winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Elijah Robinson. The Tillers blew past the Western Pioneers 42-21 on Thursday thanks in part to Robinson, who rushed for 187 yards and one TD on only 14 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
One reason for the win was Tustin's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Western's side was Tim Ioane, who picked up a sack, made seven total tackles, and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception.
When it comes to explaining why Western lost, don't look at Chance Thomas. Despite the final result, he threw for 176 yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one score on the ground.
Tustin's record now sits at 7-2. As for Western, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
