The Compton Tarbabes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their tenth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 78-57 defeat at the hands of Millikan. Compton has struggled against Millikan recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Tarbabes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Oshon Mitchell, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Jashon Finley, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Millikan was led to victory by David Nichols and Dylan Williams. Nichols scored 22 points along with two steals, while Williams scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Ryan Ocampo was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five assists.
Compton's defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-14. As for Millikan, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Compton will face off against Morningside at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Morningside has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 20. As for Millikan, they will head out on the road to square off against Long Beach Poly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Long Beach Poly's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 matchups.
