The South Titans lost against the Heights Falcons back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. South had to suffer through a rough 74-43 loss at the hands of Heights. While losing is never fun, South can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Heights is ranked third).
Leading Heights to victory were T.J. Williams and Chase Robinson. Williams scored 12 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds, while Robinson scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. It was the first time this season that Williams posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Aven Mboule, who scored 14 points.
This is the second loss in a row for South and nudges their season record down to 6-9. As for Heights, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South will take on North at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. North is coming into the match with five straight losses at home, meaning South will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Heights, they will head out on the road to face off against Southeast at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Heights knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 games -- so hopefully Southeast likes a good challenge.
