Suburban - Gold recap October 29, 2013
Raymore-Peculiar was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Lee's Summit North. The Panthers came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 29 last week.
Blue Springs added to the longest winning streak in Suburban - Gold this week by beating Lee's Summit, 49-7. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Wildcats.
Blue Springs South's dynamic duo of Chris Swingle and Brandin Dandridge proved tough for Liberty to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Swingle threw for 323 yards and 2 touchdowns and Dandridge had 212 yards receiving. Emery Ester helped Blue Springs South's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 52 yards.
Dandridge had an awesome week catching the football as the Jaguars beat the Bluejays. He caught 8 passes for 212 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback Drew Lock of the Tigers is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,251. He has also thrown 27 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Darrius Shepherd. The Blue Springs star has 48 catches for 833 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Raymore-Peculiar and Liberty. Tom Kruse's team comes into the matchup ranked 24th in the state, while Chad Frigon's team ranks sixth.
Lee's Summit fell to Blue Springs 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Lock threw for 135 yards and 1 touchdown in the defeat.
