Everything went Excelsior Springs's way against Benton on Friday as they made off with a 35-7 win.
Excelsior Springs's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 35 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Benton couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 35-0 heading into the break. Excelsior Springs were outperformed in the second half 0-7 but had enough in reserve to walk away with the game. The contest brought them to 1-0 and dropped Benton to a mirror-image 0-1.
Excelsior Springs will look to defend their home turf next week against Central at 7:00 PM. As for Benton, they will face off against Lafayette.
