The River Valley Panthers just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Leechburg Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. River Valley is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
On Thursday, River Valley earned a 51-38 victory over West Shamokin.
River Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brad McDivitt, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayden Whitfield, who scored eight points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Leechburg's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Springdale, falling 60-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Leechburg has suffered since December 2, 2023.
River Valley is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Leechburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
River Valley came up short against Leechburg in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 76-68. Can River Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
