Despite the loss, East still got an impressive performance from Kaliyah Barron, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. Barron is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Jakarol Morrison was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists and three steals.
Leila Carter was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 17 rebounds for Columbus International. Another player making a difference was Tamaya Watkins, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
East has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Columbus International, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
East will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Whetstone at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Columbus International, they will head out on the road to take on Mifflin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mifflin is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
